The Winston Story

RL Winston Rod Company was founded in 1929 in San Francisco, California by Lew Stoner and Doug Merrick. The company moved to Twin Bridges, Montana in 1976 where it has been building premium fly fishing rods ever since.

Every Winston rod is handbuilt at their Twin Bridges facility by skilled rod builders using proprietary tapers and materials developed over 95 years of rod building. Their Boron III and Air series rods are considered among the finest fly rods ever made.
