Alert details* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with temperatures up to 115 to 118 degrees expected through Death Valley and the lower Colorado River Valley, with highs between 107 to 110 degrees elsewhere. Near record warm low temperatures expected in urban areas. * WHERE...Lake Mohave, Lake Mead, Lower Colorado River Valley / Lake Havasu, Northwest Deserts, Death Valley National Park, and Las Vegas Valley. * WHEN...Until 8 PM PDT /8 PM MST/ this evening. * IMPACTS...Heat-related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events.
Safety instructionsDrink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
