Alert details* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...Rhode Island and southeast Massachusetts. * WHEN...Very late tonight through Sunday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Showers and a few embedded thunderstorms with localized narrow bands of torrential rainfall are possible very late tonight into Sunday afternoon. Widespread rainfall amounts of 0.50 to 2 inches are expected. However...localized narrow bands of 2-4" of rain are possible within a 3 hour period. While it remains uncertain if these narrow bands of heavier rain occur...the potential exists for localized flash flooding...especially if it were to occur over a vulnerable urban center. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
